The fun part about it being her series is she can end it the way she wants. That doesn’t make it ruined, it makes it her ending her way. You shouldn’t be so negative.
I agree with Jennah, good stories always have disappointments (problems) that’s what makes them good, that’s what makes the story. I personally think it’s a good ending, very catchy, a very good twist to it. Saying that she ruined just made you sound clueless of what creative writing is all about.

Looking forward to it. Reed and Ivy became my favourite characters, and their relationship — along with Ivy’s character development — was what largely drew my interest in the final books. I’m looking forward to seeing what their last scene will be like. Good series overall. I’m glad I came across it.

Wow, I just read the first chapter, and it looks freaking awesome!! lol I’m so sad to see this series go! I have the whole collection of books and everything and, after Vengeance, I will really miss going to the bookstore to pick up a copy to read and keep and then savor it. I’ll miss reading Private without having to write my continuation fanfics, but I am planning to keep the series going into Reed’s senior year, and I have some really great ideas for her in the years to come and stuff. Wow I can’t believe this series is almost over. Started reading them as a freshman in HS and now i am in college. I don’t usually stick to teen series anymore but this is one of the best. Im sad to see it go but I am curious what Kate has up her sleeve next.
So, I am so so upset that the series is ending!!! But I really want the last book to talk about Noelle’s long angry scar across her hip. I’ve always wondered about where that came from. Also, I want Noelle and Reed to be best friends again. I feel like since “paradise lost” there relationship has been strained with the ancestor witches, and the affair, and being sisters, and especially Ivy. Hopefully this last book doesn’t have lots of witch craft like the last one did. That was knd of weird. Haha, but I’m looking forward to seeing what Kate Brian has done with the finale!!!

@Rose privilege is awesome; you should totally read it. it doesn’t matter if you read it before or after the private series; just make sure you’ve read the first 4 private books (private, invitation only, untouchable, confessions) so you know what’s going on. the privilege series just ended with cruel love, the 6th and final book btw.

A part of me is super excited and another is just really sad. I love getting a new Private or Privilege book and wondering, ‘what will happen to Reed? what hilarious comment will Noelle make? Who will die next? What will happen with Reed and Josh? Will Ariana kill anyone else?’ And it really sucks that its all over. either way, i’m sure Vengeance will be an amazing installment to the series. Thanks, Kate Brian! Agreed. I didn’t like all the drooling over Noelle, and I never will. Their relationship struck me as false — especially when Reed mentioned that they didn’t feel like equals until the 12th book. “Power” aside, true friends should always feel like equals when it comes to the relationship itself.
Other than that, there wasn’t much I disliked about the series, and I thought that Kate did a good job overall.

What MUST happen: a happy ending. Seriously, all the books except for the first one have had something go horribly wrong at the end, and this is the final book — PLEASE make it an actual good ending, and not an open or ambiguous one. I want to leave with the feeling that everything finally worked out for everyone.
Any series that finishes its final installment on a sad, bittersweet, or cliffhanger ending is 100% wasted. I really mean that. The reader invests so much more in a series than in a single book. If stories were made to end with unresolved questions or problems, then they might as well cut off somewhere in the middle.
You failed with Privilege. Please don’t let us down again!

I loved the Privilege series, but the ending was a huge disappointment. It was almost everything an ending should never be — unhappy, and with no indication of what the aftermath was like.

@Katie I understand what you’re saying, but let’s be realistic for a moment. This is Ariana we’re talking about. Are you saying that she deserved to live a happy ending after all the destruction she caused? All the people she killed? She didn’t deserve the things she had. Or should I say, the things she “stole” from others. Yeah, the ending was a bit sad, but she did deserve what she got, and Kate knew it too. She knew that Ariana deserved nothing, that’s why she wrote the ending she did. Face it. Ariana was either going to die at the end or be sent back to prison. It was a set up from the very begining. Karma would not let her go that easily. Know what I’m saying?

I think you should somehow make Thomas alive. What I mean is, in The Book of Spells, you wrote that there was a spell that Eliza and Theresa created which made people see catherine even though she was not there. Maybe some which kidnapped Thomas for some reason and used that spell. So, Ariana killed only the vision of him not the real him. I don’t know, this is only an idea.
oh yeah, and maybe make Josh and Thomas fight over Reed after they discovered Thomas is not dead.

This is an issue that has been the sjbeuct of much debate through the decades. There is some evidence on both sides.At least one radar outpost did detect the incoming invasion. Whether they mis-interpreted it as US aircraft inbound to Hickham or a US Navy exercise has been debated significantly.The Japanese ambassador to the US was to deliver a declaration of war to Congress and the White House. This was actually delivered after the attack due to scheduling snafus on the Japanese side and a dismissive attitude towards to Japanese ambassador.Modern military doctrine holds it unthinkable that the entire fleet would be in one place at one time, rendering it as a sitting duck. Admiral Husband Kimmel, chief of the naval fleet at Pearl Harbor was implicated in the attack for this reason but was never punished. He demanded trial by Court Martial to clear his name but this never occurred. The repercussions of Pearl Harbor essentially killed off his Naval career. Whether he had information that would have implicated the Roosevelt administration in the attack that would have become public knowledge at trial or whether he was simply a scape-goat for the administration are unknown though there is much speculation on both sides there.Roosevelt knew that US involvement in WWII was inevitable and necessary to stop the advance of both Hitler and Hirohito. However there was a strong popular isolationist feeling in the US at that time. About the only issues in contention are when and would it have been soon enough. If the US entry had only been delayed a few months it’s likely that the outcome would have been the same. We would not have had a base in Europe to launch the attacks on the German war machine, at least without liberating England first. Germany didn’t have any long-range bombers that could have delivered that to the US mainland, at least in the early to mid 1940s but if they had successfully invaded England (and some say, honored the pact with Stalin) there’s little doubt that they would have had the time to develop such a platform. And had they advanced their rocket expertise to inter-continental range or developed a successful mid-range sea-launched missile there’s little doubt that DC would have been a target as would have much of the US’ industrial base and financial centers. And had they shared that technology with Japan, we could have had nuclear strikes raining down from both coasts. I shudder to think what the outcome of such a calamitous situation would have been.

you can read it! you have to have read up to the 4th book confessions to understand what is going on!

OMG you guys!! 2 more weeks! =D Until Private is officially over. =[ I know a lot of people are saying it would be great to have a spinoff with Noelle and stuff, and that would be awesome, but even though she'll be writing other series they'll be unrelated; not with any Private characters because she seems really done with Private. =( It's sad, but in the fall, I'm going to keep its memory alive by doing a FanFiction continuation of the series of Reed's senior year and then probably her years in Georgetown. And the college series might be in Noelle's point of view! EEE!! So happy to be keeping it going; even though I can't publish it or anything I will do it right. Stay tuned. =]

What I don’t get about people being upset over the ending of Privilege is this, it was bound to happen. I knew 1 of 2 things was going to happen shes was going to die or get sent back to Brenda T. We were pretty much set up from the beginning considering everything good was coming Ariana’s way she got away with all those murders, got into the best school, got the best guys, made friends with the popular girls, made it into stone and grave, got the presidency of stone and grave, etc. Karma was heading her way. And honestly if you thought Kate would choose killing Reed over Ariana… you were tripping cause Reed has been through hell and back cause of this girl. You had to have known payback was coming. But it was kind of unrealistic that reed was the one that ended up killing her.. it was ironic, but just weird. Since when did Reed start fending for herself? Someone else was always saving her butt NOW she decides to get tough? I was shocked to say the least. Reed finally grew a backbone
Yeah, I totally agree with you, Melissa. Although there were times throughout the Privilege series when I questioned my mental state a bit (lol), and briefly “sided with Ariana” because of the way Kate wrote it, in the end I think it ended perfectly because I always really knew deep down that Ariana didn’t deserve that life. She was a cold-blooded murderer who needed to be treated the same way she treated everyone else; I honestly don’t think therapy would have helped at that point and she just wouldn’t stop because she never really learned from anything she did. And, in self defense, that was just what Reed did and I applaud her for that. I’m so happy her life got better and I know from experience that college really does change you in the best ways. She was finally alone in her dorm room, the first time she needed to be saved in awhile, with no one there to defend her but herself…and she did it. Then Noelle came with her to the hospital and finished it off and the sisters stuck together to give Ariana what she had coming to her the whole time. Reed has earned that great life, not Ariana, and I will always be on Team Reed; I love her, because she has all those things, but it comes down to her being a good person overall too and that’s what’s gotten her through it all. That’s why I think, when I write my fanfiction of her senior year, I’ll probably put her in Atherton-Pryce Hall instead of Easton. She’s come a long enough way to get into it, it’s a wonderful campus, the girls there are a lot sweeter than some of the Easton crowd and sports is a big part of life there; which Reed lives and breathes. I could put her on the soccer team there so she can really live up her last year of high school, instead of wanting nothing more than to graduate, like the way I felt my senior year. I’ll also have the main characters of Private and Privilege be with her somehow and show how she got accepted to Georgetown, with of course, a main plot to resolve in order to keep it interesting. I want things to end well for her, so at the end, I’ll probably also make it so that everyone who died because of Ariana and Kaitlynn lives (like Lexa and Bridget and Kiran and everyone else who died as well). Some of them will become (Bridget and Lexa; in the fanfiction) or will have already been (Kiran) friends with Reed, before they died, so I’ll take care of them for her. Reed so deserves it.
Exactly… like everyone that is upset i’m just like you have to remember… she killed Thomas Pearson. I remember when everyone was soo pissed about him dying and still want him to come back..they are the same people siding with Ariana. I thought this was a great series honestly. I loved it soo much and I’m glad it ended the way it did. Ariana had no other way unless she continued living her life as a lie. I mean Reeds okay she isn’t my favorite only cause she kind of annoys me because she can be very helpless and naive, but i’ll always choose her over Ariana. Even though it was fun reading about Ariana, I will never forgive her for all the lives shes taken. But yeah Reed has deifnitely grown from leaving Easton and for that I’m proud she extracted herself from the Billings crowd and that was a healthy choice for her.
But what was Noelle doing on the Easton campus when she supposedly goes to Yale? Which is in NY. and if Josh is going to Cordell which is in New York how do they maintain that frelationship when they’re states away>
I know what you mean. I’ll never forgive Ariana either, and although Reed has seemed to have no backbone throughout the Private series, she really has been through so much; compared to how I’d be taking it she’s really been doing well. In college, she does seem to have left most of the Billings Girls except for Noelle, Kiran and Taylor, and of course she and Josh end up together as well. I’d like to think that Constance and Ivy are still in the picture too, along with her closest friends from St. Barths; Upton and the Hathaways, and Noelle and Dash are probably still together. Everyone else was kind of not really the main part of the storyline and probably went their own ways but stayed with their close friends (like London with Vienna and everyone). I love how everything turned out and really want her to have a great year before that too; away from Easton and I’ll show how Reed got so much stronger and her life getting better (with some drama that ends when the books end). I think Atherton would be perfect.
I wondered about Noelle too! I think, though, that she does go to Yale and she was just visiting Reed because otherwise we probably would have seen her in Cruel Love more often. And as for Josh, I kind of expected that, because they love each other too much NOT to keep a long-distance relationship going. Rosh 4ever. <33

Finally, Someone who UNDERSTANDS!! Ariana always complained about how Reed stole everything from her. Her boyfriend, her friends, her home, her life. Well guess what?? Ariana did the same exact thing she blames Reed for in Privilege! She stole Palmer from Lexa, I mean, I know they broke up but in a very tiny way she organized that. She stole Briana Leigh’s life. She killed the poor girl and assumed her identity, she practically weasled her way into Maria, Soomie and Brigit’s lives because she thought that they could get her places. I mean, yeah they were really friends, but we all know that she was kind of trying to use them to get that status she wanted in the begining. She was never really planning on getting close with anyone because then that’d be dangerous teritory for her. What if she let something slip? Then what? Out of everybody, she stole TWO lives. Lexa and Briana Leigh. She can’t blame Reed for her misfortunes when she practically did the same thing to two girls. And honestly, Ariana was walking around the whole time doing bad things and thinking that her sh*t doesn’t stink. News flash, a person can only get away with so much before Karma catches up with them and pulls them down a few pegs. It was always bound to happen. She’s good now, but eventually, she’ll either get sloppy, or someone will show up and recongnize her, or she’ll get extremely obsessive over something and put everything that she worked so “hard” for in jeopardy. And all those things ended up happening to her. Deep down we all knew that she wasn’t gonna get away with it all. Karma was going to put a huge halting hand in her face eventually. I mean come on. She could only get away with so much until everything came crashing down because she never deserved any of the “good fortune” in the first place. She had it all and she lost it all, and yes. It was FAIR. If I had to choose between Reed and Ariana to live, I’d choose Reed to still be alive and kickin’ anyday. But that’s just how I feel.

Questa mattina mi sono precipitato al media markt e ho preso the conduit!Devo dirvi solo una cosa: FANTASTICO!Allora, io i voti li do dal numero 1 al numero 6 (qui in Ticino cos ).Grafica 5,3 su 6: Grafica davvero fantastica, le texture dei personaggi di ottima fattura, mentre quelle dell’ambiente sono un po’ ambigue. Pecca per la amncanza di stile, es: certi nemici sono inguardabili (sono di un rosso con riflesso verde nauseante). Il forte della grafica di questo gioco il gioco di luci (scusate il gioco di parole) che esso contiene, l’illuminazione della pelle del protagonista (la mano fatta allo stesso livello si quella di bioshock) delle armi e tutto il resto fantastica! Pregevole anche la fisica in generale.Sonoro 4.9 su 6: Le musiche utilizzate sono un po’ piatte ma riescono comunque ad emozionare nel modo giusto. Ottimi anche gli effetti sonori delle armi: molto realistici.Multiplayer online 5.9 su 6: Il mioglior mutli online per wii. Non me la sento di dare il massimo dei voti perch la parfezione impossibile da raggiungere. Finalmente quando si enrtra a fiocare online ci sar anche qualcun’altro e quindi i tempi d’attesa per iniziare una partita saranno brevissimi! Fantastico!Controlli 3.3 su 6: Il reparto controlli sicuramente il lato peggiore del gioco. Sono disastrosi e anche frustranti; ma una volta capito che si pu modificare i controlli a proprio piacimento questo andicap svanisce almeno parzialmente.Longevit 5.3 su 6: Il multiplayer online non fa altro che rendere alta la longevit . In singolo il gioco bello, ma pecca di una trama obsoleta.Giudizio finale (non una media) 5.5 su 6: Gioco fantastico sotto quasi tutti i punti di vista. I talloni d’Achille di codesto gioco sono la scarsa qualit dei controlli, la trama ed infine la mancanza di stile nel reparto grafico/stilistico. High Voltage ha dimostrato di credere nel Wii, e ha anche dato la prova tangibile che questa console (se spremuta) pu raggiungere ottimi livelli grafici. Sia chiaro che non potr competere in un killzone 2 o in un Halo 3, ma rimane una gioia per le nostre insaziabili pupille! Consigliato a tutti. Grazie per la lettura: djmario

I really hope this comment won’t get you upset. A ton of comments I’ve read were like “well you screwed it up, thanks” and things of that nature. I will say that you haven’t screwed anything up for me. You’re the writer and we aren’t. You know what you see in your head and how you want the series to end. If you were to write books on what we commented, you would have a mess of a book!
That being said, I just read the first chapter of Vengeance! I CANNOT wait for it! Of course, I am going to be sad that it’s the last of the Private series but I know you can’t keep writing these books forever. It’s really ironic that the last of the Private series is ending the same time I’m ending my high school career since I started them my freshman year.
I can’t thank you enough for a series that had an avid reader like me constantly reading throughout my high school career.
But of course, I do have a few wishes on what Vengeance holds. I really, really, really, really wish that you wrote a whole lot of the Josh and Reed relationship. What I mean is, I wish (and hope!) you wrote a ton of romance between Josh and Reed in the book. And I really wish and hope you have a perfect ending, one that doesn’t hold us wishing you would write another book to explain everything but one that closes everything. Those two wishes are my only desires for this book! Of course, I would love for you to write more Private series books.
But thank you! Thank you so much for what you’ve written and how you’ve written it. You’ve made me want to become a writer and to release some of the thoughts I have for a story onto paper. You’re an amazing writer and I’m so happy I was able to grow with the Private series. Please don’t ever stop writing! (I know, it sounds like those cheesy high school yearbook sayings, “Don’t ever change, you’re awesome the way you are!) But really, I can’t thank you enough for this series!

I wn’t spoil it fr yu guys (because i hate when people spoil books for me) but i will say this: there’s tons of Reed/Josh moments, a shocking twist you’ll never see coming, more Billings Girl drama, and the mystery, romance, suspense, secrets, and edge-of-your-seat thrills that have had us hooked on this incredible series from the very first book. oh, and the witchcraft thing isn’t too prominent.
So, that’s it! hope you guys love it as much as I do!! I soooo wish Kate would continue the series or do another spin-off! Anyway, VENGEANCE is an installment you won’t want to miss!

Bahh a volte non vi capisco qusete a mio parere sono immagini in game precalcolate, e della Wii.Anche perch un fottuto 360 fa decisamente di meglio.finalmente qualcosa di veramente decente a livello tecnico. I just finished reading Vengeance! It was sooo amazing! I have to admit though,i am pretty sad this series is ending, i loved this series! But this was a good conclusion to the series. I couldnt put the book down!! Im not gonna spoil anything ’cause i know how annoying that is! But if you havent already read this book you need too! it was amazing!

la grafica e pertfeta per le potenzialit del Wii speriamo un gameplay ben fatto questo gioco sar proiettato nella cima della classifica!Xpino be x i giochettini fumettosi un p ai ragione ma alla fine un gioco puo avere anche il personaggio che una caccola ma se fatto bene bello lo stesso! logico che non a la grafica next gen come il 360 e la play3 ma per essere Wii notevole!!e poi le altre non anno il sensore di movimento!
OMG…..can’t believe the Private series is coming to an end! I feel as though I grew up reading this book series. Even though I started reading it about my freashman or softmore year in high school. Now I’m in college, but I can still remember when I was at my high school library and saw this book and picked it up. I love these books so much and I now for the first time have a whole book series on my bookshelf. LoL Thank you so much for making reading so much fun and exciting!! =D

Sarah August 27, 2011 Okay I guess I’m just going tgrouhh all your posts and commenting this morning! So audio books are expensive, but they are really great for commutes. I highly recommend audible.com. It’s great, seriously. You can get a membership for like 14 bucks a month and that entitles you to 1 credit a month. You trade in the credit for whatever book you like, and you can buy additional books if you need them for a reduced price (way, way less than bookstores). They have a massive selection. I love the service. I download them and put them on my iphone and then listen to them in the car, at the gym, and most importantly around the house when I’m cleaning! I hate cleaning, but it is not a chore when I’m totally engrossed in a book. I really recommend The Help for your first listen the narrators were amazing. Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver was also awesome and well narrated. I think the narration makes all the difference!
