Well, I think it’s cool how everybody changed their names, like Noelle and Kaitlyn and Ana… I just wouldn’t go for Cheyenne, Thomas, Arianna or Sabine! Also I have not read the book but from a spoiler I think the plot is that Ariana kills Lexa when she threatens to reveal her identity? Ariana also attempts to murder Reed but instead she is shot by Reed and dies in the hospital with Noelle watching also, and Jasper tells her that he loves her? BTW, I think this model was the prettiest one yet of all the Privilege books… cureently I’m on Sweet Deceit— at first it seemed a bit boring since the whole funeral thing put an unwanted damper on the setting but now I am really interested here! I wonder why Ariana is being so nice to Kaitlynn. Is she trying to act all BFF then kill her such as “Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer” or is she trying to stay on Kaitlynn’s good side? I know that Kaitlynn is lured into a trap and murdered by Ariana with Lexa as a witness, and is this really the book where Kiran Hayes is pushed over a bridge by Ariana? I know she was drunk but why did Ariana really kill her- I mean, Kiran had no clue who Ariana was, right? Or did she look into Ariana’s eyes and capture that penetrating stare? Or maybe Ariana was angry at Kiran for all that happened and finally banished her? I cannot wait until Kaitlynn dies becuz she was so…. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. U know I think even tho I like loooooovvvveee Arianna she kinda deserved to die I mean look at all the people that she has killed like; Thomas , kiran, lexa, kaitlynn, Brianna Leigh,Melissa, sergi, dr. Melion. They all died because Arianna thought it was their time to go. And I think she was psyhcho to think Reed was the one who killed all those people and that the blood was on Reeds hands. But in the end I was happy Reed didn’t die cause I’m TEAM REED!!!!
I just finished Cruel Love less than fifteen minutes ago. And I was absolutley shocked!!! I mean, I already knew that Ariana was going to die at the end because some people have looser lips than others, so I knew some of the things that was going to happen even before I picked the book up, but I was still shocked. And part of me was sad for Ariana. Part of me felt that if she would have just left Reed alone and went to Europe with Jasper, then she’d still be alive and with the boy she loves and out of danger. But she just had to go after Reed. Shame. In a way, I would have loved to see Ariana go to Europe and really start fresh this time, but in another way, I feel that she did deserve what happened to her. When I think about all the people who died by her hands: Sergi, Melissa, Kiran, Thomas, Brianna Leigh, Lexa, Kaitlynn (though she deserved it), Dr. Meloni, and let’s not forget sweet Brigit who was probably the kindest person in the world. Even though it was Kaitlynn that killed Brigit, it would have never happened if it wasn’t for Ariana. Brigit’s death is Ariana’s burden too…….yeah. She deserved the end she got. Sad but true.But what shocked me the most was the fact that she actually thought she was going to get away with all of this!! She thought she was invincible. Not to mention, she had some real mental issues. Ariana overall was just……..wow. Oh well. Goodbye Ariana. You were a thrill while you lasted. I am truely going to miss the Priviledge series as well as the Private series when the last Private novel hits the shelves.

I know right? Like maybe just one more book about how everyone else is doing, and how Jasper is taking it and if he knows who “Ana” really is. Cause I mean, he literally had to watch her die and Noelle and Reed were with him, so I imagine that they told him the truth as soon as she flat lined. I think it would have been great if we could see what happens next. I do hate the way she ended it. It was just a huge cliff hanger for all the other characters. But I just want to see what she’ll come up with next.

If I was Ariana, I wouldn’t be sure if I’d tell Jasper about my past. I mean, I’d want to, but, who knows what would happen after? Would he accept the truth, or go crazy and tell the police? It’s tricky. I don’t know if I’d ever tell him if I was Ariana.

For some odd reason I kinda felt that Noelle did something to cause arianna to die is it just me or am I the only one who sensed that? .I love Noelle and everything but sometimes she seems a little werid to me o.0
I think Noelle probably wanted to kill Ariana at that moment but I don’t think she was ever alone in the room with her (cus think about it, Reed calls the cops, Ariana’s already in very, very critical, obviously fatal condition) so the doctors were probably with her for the short time she was in the hospital room, before she died.
I thought Noelle pulled the plug on Ariana… cause she was all tense, then smiled, then Ariana’s heart stopped and all that.
That’s exactly what I thought! But I was thinking the same way arianna killed lexa is the same way noelle killed arianna maybe. But I guess that’s another one of our unanswered questions.
I think the doctors probably pulled the plug, since there was no way Ariana could recover. Although that’s a really good theory that Noelle did it. It just doesn’t seem very logical because that’s illegal haha
I agree with Ashleyyy. I thought Noelle killed Ariana the samw way Ariana killed Lexa. I was kind of happy with that theory to be honest. It kind of sucks that we’ll never know what happens to Soomi. She’ll probably have a mental break down worse than the one that she had after Lexa died. Who knows though.
SPOILER This was the worst ending ever!! I realize that Ariana was kind of a freak and all but seriously Reed killing her that’s the WORST thing that could happen to her. That just makes me really hate Reed. I was starting to like privilege more. I liked Ariana a lot more than Reed. Rediculus.

Ikr? In a way I really wanted Reed to live, but I also wanted Ariana to get on with her life. I think it’s just sick how she killed Lexa, even though Lexa trusted her so much. I think until then I had sort of been “excusing” the murders in way…. but when she killed Lexa I realized how crazy she was. Also to blame everything on Reed was insane. But does anybody think she deserved a better death scene? I wish she could have died looking into Jasper’s eyes, all happy knowing she died in the arms of the boy she loved, even though he would never really know who she was. I mean, to die looking at everything you worked so ruthlessly to change…. sad.
When you think about it, once Jasper finds out who Ariana really is/what she’s done, that poor boy is going to need SO much therapy. He was (however naively) willing to run off to Spain with her, with basically no explanation, he slept with her, he did all that nice stuff for her and the whole time she was lying to him about everything (in all fairness to her not how she felt about him but she sure as hell lied about a lot). I felt so bad for him in the end, he was totally over the moon about her and because this is Ariana, who would kill her “best friend” because she felt she had to, how much do you want to bet that she’d have killed Jasper if she felt she had to?- actually she already was prepared to kill him in Pure Sin so that’s kinda further proof that, as far as I could tell, the only people she would never harm are Noelle and her mother. Although if she ever did try to kill Noelle I bet that Noelle would beat her ass pretty easily!
I do feel bad for Jasper. But honestly I was so sad when Ariana died I mean she might be a little psycho but that’s what made her character so amazing. If you go back to the Last Christmas I blame Thomas for Ariana going crazy I mean honestly he’s the reason she killed Sergei and Melissa to hide there relationship and then he falls for Reed and totally breaks Ariana’s heart. He’s kind of stupid if you think about if because he basically was threatening to ruin Ariana’s life he should have known that she would kill him. I still love Ariana though even though she’s clearly mental and a little bit emo.
I agree sooo much. With Ariana, it’s like your love is only worth something to her if you don’t know who she really is. I also don’t understand why she had to go try to kill Reed. This is sort of sick, but she could have gotten away with everything if she just left the country ASAP. She shouldn’t have tried to complete that final murder. Plus I love Reed, and I would hate to see her die. I sort of felt that this book wasn’t as good as the others… also i REALLY wish Kate would actually post here like she used to instead of having somebody else write a bland paragraph
I wish Reed and Ariana could’ve both gone their separate ways because I wanted both of them to live. When she killed Briana Leigh, I was hoping the murders would’ve stopped there and everytime she murdered someone else, it just made her seem every more crazy. In the end, I was sad she had to die but sort of thought she deserved it. I mean, everytime I have a slight problem with people I don’t go around killing them, like she did with Sergei and Melissa.

There’s one point in the end of this book where it says something like “Ariana had been waiting three years for this moment,” so I guess it’s been that long, not positive though.

Naaaahh the privilege series is REALLY good but I’m still on team reed. SPOILER I understand the some of you came to really like ariana in the privilege series but the ending with ariana dying we kinda all knew it would come. Like really did the whole series was really about reed and she her life finally made sense and calmed down. By the end of privilige ariana was juat really parinoid and she always seemed to be looking for an excuse to kill someone … But the pivilege series was AMAZING and I really likes the ending !
I think the best ‘Privilege’ books are the first and the last. The others are okay, but I personally wasn’t as drawn in by the Atherton-Pryce stories or characters (with the exception of the Kaitlynn story line, though even that becomes a little redundant before the end). However, I was surprisingly engaged by the first ‘Privilege’ book, and ‘Cruel Love’ was great as well. It obviously requires a little suspension of disbelief — there’s no way Meloni would be hired by a major school after being fired elsewhere in disgrace — but it made for a gripping study of Ariana’s character. The ending was sort of sad, but appropriate.
And for everyone who sort of wanted Ariana to get a happy ending (she’s truly a character you hate to love), there are probably going to be fanfics about that. Not the real thing, obviously, but a decent alternative.
I can’t find any fanfic about Privilege. Except for a very few on fanfiction.net, and they’re short, and don’t cover what I really want to read. Where can I find more fanfic of this series?
I’ve looked around myself. Besides the ‘Privilege’ section on ff.net, I think there are a few in the ‘Private’ section. But you’re right — they’re kind of rare.

Hey did anyone else notice that some of the characters in Privileged are alike to the characters in Private? Either that or the were polar opposites? like Maria/Kiran, a little bit of Tahira/Cheyenne, Dash/Rob,Hudson/Josh, Jasper/Tomas, Palmer/Daniel, Soomie/Taylor and-no surprise here- Ariana/Kaitlynn. Noelle/Lexa were different in the polar opposites way; true they both have control of their special place but Lexa rules in a more opensh way than Noelle with her strict ways.

Guess Ivy Slade is a one and only. I was kind of hoping that Reed would mention her in this book. I know she’s always going to be close to Josh and Noelle, but I’d like to think that Ivy would be up there too by now. Hope they have a nice ending in ‘Private.’

Hey also did anyone notice how Lexi is called Sister Becky Sharp and in private Reed is reading a book in Ambition or Revelation(i dont remember exactly which one) but it’s around the time she starts talking to Marc. And then also after Ariana gets all the money from Grandma C she talks about how one of the first things she got was the diamond pendent like the one Noelle has that Ariana always wore to Casino Night in St. Barts? But then she talks about how she didn’t like all the saphires surrounding it so she just got the diamond? Later on in Paradise Lost in the Private series Noelle gives Reed the necklace to wear to Casino Night because it matches her dress. That part always confuses me to why she gives it to her if she knows Ariana always wore it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Kate had planned to write her out somehow after the eighth book. In any case, I’m glad she kept her around. She’s one of the more developed and fun characters. I’d love to find out more about her past and her family as well. But I probbaly wouldn’t want Ivy without Reed; I like reading about them together.
And I’ve always viewed that girl in the center of ‘Ambition’ as the perfect Ivy. I think the girl in the center of ‘Untouchable’ is the perfect Reed (even though I know she’s supposed to be Kiran).

Fair enough. I agree that the other books certainly have their moments. To me, the first and the last are the most engaging from start to finish (maybe because of the situations), but a few of my favourite scenes are in the others as well.
I know the first is probably my favorite of all because there is just so much in the plot without ever being redundant, but in the last one, I did like how Kate Brian kind of prepared us with the end by showing Ariana in a more villanous (or at least unstable) light.
Yeah, I got tired of the Kaitlynn story line after a while. I wish Kate (Brian) would have got more
in-depth about how Atherton-Pryce was the only school/opportunity Noelle was ever rejected from, because that really surprised me. Why did Briana Lee get in, with all the same assets as Noelle, when Noelle did not? Did I miss a page or something, something about why Briana got in? (If so, somebody, please explain). I agree that Meloni’s return helped me see a little more into Ariana’s mind- very interesting. Kate did a great job, especially with ‘Cruel Love’, of digging into the mind of a ruthless serial killer.
brianna leigh’s grandmother bribed the headmaster to get her into APH. I think it was mentioned in Privilege, Perfect Mistake, and briefly in Cruel Love.

I didn’t care much for her character in the private series but I finally broke down and bought Privilege from then on I have been hooked. I didn’t want her to kill Reed but I wished they could have still left the country. But oh well It was a great series while it lasted
I know this post has nothing to do with “Cruel Love” which is the topic I’m posting under, but i really want some answers and i figured that this would be the most looked at topic seeing as how it’s the newest.
So I read “Sweet Deceit” and I’m about a quarter of the way through “Pure Sin”, but I’m a little confused!!!
At the end of “Sweet Deceit” Ariana kills Kaitlynn while Lexa witnesses, but in my recollection of the book Lexa never learns of “Lillian’s” true name, Kaitlynn, but then on page 36 of “Pure Sin” Lexa mutters “Kaitlynn?” as she regains consciousness after fainting due to the broken glass in her dorm room. So am I right in being confused or do I just have to keep reading to find out why Lexa knows of Lillian’s real name??

Arianna was a character who I loved and hated. There is a part of me that wishes that she didn’t continue to kill and we could have continued the series longer. A part of me wanted her to run away to Europe and have a happy ending, but another part of me felt this was a fitting ending someone watching her die as she did after she killed. I do believe that Arianna hates to think of herself as a murderer which is why she blamed Reed I just wish she came to terms with that.

Yes, Ariana is descended from Catherine White because they mentioned it in both Ominous and Book of Spells. Also, i think they said something about her wearing a necklace that once belonged to Catherine.

Actually, Ariana isn’t a decendant of Catherine White because Catherine never had kids. She died at the age of sixteen due to a spell gone wrong before she could get married and all that. Ariana is a distant relative of Catherine. Catherine’s younger brother, Lincoln is Arianna’s great, great, great grandfather, in which is how Ariana is related to Catherine. But is not her decendant. Catherine is more like a great, great, great aunt to Arianna. Not a grandma. Just thought you should know. But, Ariana’s Fleur De Lis necklace did belong to Catherine once.

I think that just happens when you grow attached to the main character. It wasn’t right what she did, but I still wanted her and Jasper to live in Europe and be happy together. And yeah, I really don’t like Reed so I kept thinking “Just forget about her already!” But yeah, I felt very sad about the ending.

Definately! I was really hoping she would just drop killing Meloni and then a ton of trouble could have been avoided. After that there was pretty much no going back.

I just finished reading Cruel Love today. When I was reading all of the private books I always wondered what happened to Ariana, did she go to prison?was she put on death row? I went and bought Last Christmas and loved it! But it didn’t tell where she was now. I always thought Ariana deserved to go to prison but as I read the Privilege series I found myself hoping she would get the guy and be happy, forget about reed, then never killing again. At the end I felt like screaming “Stupid you should have just forgot about reed!” I hope the private series continues so we know if Noelle tells Jasper anything about Ariana, I love Kate Brian books and I hope she keeps on writing for a long long time!
The last private book, Vengeance would take place roughly (and by roughly I really mean roughly because he whole Private/Privilege timeline is so confusing) 18 months/2 years before Cruel Love so Noelle wouldn’t have met Jasper yet. That was the one thing I was really unhappy about with Cruel Love I really, really wanted an Epilogue, something simple would have been fine but something that covered how the APH kids reacted to finding out who Ariana really was, how her family reacted to finding out their daughter was officially dead, and how Noelle and Reed reacted.
Yeah, Becca i totally agree with you. i feel like the end of cruel love still leaves you hanging with unanswered questions about what happens after Ariana dies.
Yeah but she needed to go find Reed, or she would never have gotten closure. Imagine living your life trying to ignore the person who you believe ruined your life? It was driving Ariana crazy, and I think she wouldn’t have been able to move to Europe and forget about it. I mean in Cruel Love Ariana’s newly built “life” was just falling to pieces around her, and it was just so sad. I hated that she died, however all good things (for a killer) must end.
I agree with your opinion. ariana was crazy! she was willing to off anyone who got in her way of exposing her true identity. that’s how cold blooded she was. as well as selfish, too, because she could kill lexa who she called her best friend! sick. she’s a person capable of feeling emotions but guilt for murder is not one of them. perhaps she was sickened at herself for killing briana leigh when it was really kaitlynn who duped her into believing it but then later she goes on this crazy mantra like, “i’ll kill kaitlynn to get revenge for briana” and then onto, “oh no, lexa is going to tell. my cover will be blown. she has to die.” and of course she’s always hated dr. meloni so the fact he is killed by her is a given. later on she gets even more twisted with the, “it’s all reed’s fault! if she had never come to easton, thomas and i would still be together; i wouldn’t have had to go to prison, kill briana, … blah blah blah” toward the end, i was very frustrated how ariana didn’t own the fact she murdered all those people and kept blaming reed. well, i feel ariana still would have tried to kill anyone who she perceived as taking thomas away from her. just think about it. if reed hadn’t come to easton, it might’ve been another girl who caught thomas’s attention and ariana would have gone to the same means to get rid of that particular person. thomas was already very scared of ariana knowing what she did to his ex-girlfriend and sergy.
on the other hand, ariana coming from a dysfunctional family with a mentally unstable mother it’s no wonder she turned out the way she did. i keep thinking about the first private series book … when reed really sees ariana for the first time (after the spying window scene) and she can feel the sadness radiating off of ariana’s aura. i think reed could feel it because on some level (although neither of them knew it) that they both were suffering the effects of having unstable mothers. maybe in another timeline they could have been kindred spirits. i dunno. reed did not know thomas was supposed to be ariana’s boyfriend. if she had known, i’m almost sure reed would have not thought about touching thomas.
in the prequel last christmas, i remember reading the part where ariana comes back to school and looks for thomas. when she sees him, he’s all over reed and hands over the lucky coin he once gave ariana like it’s nothing. that part i do not understand because the last time he and ariana see each other, they promise to meet again at the next school semester and lie low until daniel graduates so ariana can be with thomas openly. it’s like … ariana came back w/ the expectation of being w/ thomas. he didn’t tell her off or say, “let’s break up” or anything. it was so sudden … he didn’t even say anything when he started courting reed and stuff. while ariana blames reed for taking thomas away, he’s just as at fault for leading ariana on to thinking they were still together without breaking it off and just moving onto the next girl.
I think i speak for many when I say that I thought Ariana was going to die. In these series (Privildeged and Private) they always have the message of karma. I had no idea that Cruel love ended the series! I actually liked and sympathized with Ariana through out the series. That she killed so many people didn’t strike me until pure sin. Ariana started to get seriously paranoid she always had the belief that you shouldn’t kill people unless it was necessary. When I read that line I was like ok, but now I am like WOAH! She is CRRAZZZZZY! And in cruel love she really got insane she has absolutely no guilt about killing all these people and she kills Kiran which was completely random. I agree with whom ever said that Ariana was looking for reasons to kill people. It is unbelievable that Jasper still loves Ariana after everything she’s done. To be honest I hate to say this but I think (and I can’t believe I am saying this about anyone) Ariana deserved to die. She is so selfish and she tries to act like the good girl form privildege to sweet deceit. Keep in mind I didn’t read sweet deceit or cruel love so I may be wrong when i am saying any of this. Also I do have to say I find Reed quite annoying for reasons that have nothing to do with Ariana. She always acts so high and mighty in my opinion, which is very annoying. Although she has gone through a lot
i totally agree with you 100% with the whole arianna thing and REED !! .. i dont know why but the more i read the private series the more i hate her !! .. she acts very crontrolling, especially in vanished and scandal .. SHES ALWAYS ALWAYS THE HERO and in ominous shes like the most powerful witch ever ?? im just sick of reed .. i know alot of people are probably going to hate me for saying this but i kinda want reed to die ?? .. i love noelle though, i dont even mind when noelle is sometimes controlling and bossy aswell cuz .. theres just something awesome about her character, reed is just tooo whiny !!! (these are just my opinion i know theres alot of reed fans there) the only reason im still interested in the private series is for noelle.

Omg I 100% agree with you guys. Reed is soooo boring to read about, and she’s just so whiny. Like ok, we get that everything terrible happens to you. Great. Stop complaining. I think Noelle should be the main character, and Reed should die. Like wouldn’t it be great if Mrs Ryan or something just comes to Easton and kills Reed? Then Noelle would take over, and all would be great. Noelle has always been a really interesting character to me, and she’s just so fun to read about. If Kate Brian is gonna do another series I think Noelle should probably be the main character.
As for Ariana, I think she was just put in so many bad situations she was almost forced to kill people. She had a good reason for every one of her murders (whether it was moral or not) and she was just trying to live her life. I don’t think it’s anyones fault, I just think Ariana was in the wrong place at the wrong time. STUPID ARIANA, WHY DIDNT YOU FINISH YOUR ENGLISH PAPER ON TIME IN JUNIOR YEAR DURING THE WINTER BREAK? then you wouldnt have killed 8 people LOL.

I nearly cried! Mostly because the series was over but also I was kinda in shock, I was like, Woah… she just went totally bat-ass crazy and killed a lot of people… and if she got caught and didn’t die she’d have most definitely gotten the death penalty

I think its crazy that anyone thought Ariana was going to die towards the end of the series I for sure did NOT AT ALL. I don’t understand why Kate Brian would pick Ariana out of anyone make a amazing spin off series and then have her die at the end? That’s bullshit. I also don’t think Ariana was looking to kill people for any random reasons. If you think about it every single person she had murdered had to die; Briana Leigh, Kaitlynn, Kiran, Lexa, Dr. Meloni all had to die because they had something on her and could have ruined Arianas new life. This might sound fucked up and rude but if I were in Ariana and been through everything she went through to get a new life I would do whatever it took to keep my turn identity a secret and that’s what she did. Jasper was Ariana’s boyfriend from Privilege books 5&6. He finds out she’s really Ariana Osgood at the very end of book 6.
Just finished Cruel Love and it was freaking amazing!! I think Kate ended it perfectly, too, because Ariana was getting more insane and really paranoid. By the end of the Privilege series, she’d killed EIGHT PEOPLE, and felt no shame or guilt about it. I also felt so bad for Maria and Soomie and everyone, and especially for Jasper, who loved her unconditionally and selflessly above all else. All of them were so sweet to her and got so close with her while she was a psychopath living a lie the whole time; they all deserve such a better friend and “Ana” finally got what she deserved in the end. And I hated how she kept obsessing over Reed and blaming her for what she did. Throughout those parts in the book, I was like, “Um…YOU’RE a murderer and you should own up to it.” Personally, I don’t think any therapy would have helped her, she had to get revenge the exact way she’d been treating everyone she’d killed. I’m so happy that Reed didn’t die too; she and Noelle are two of my favorite characters in Private. They are AWESOME and sisters and nothing can change that. I loved Noelle’s sarcasm about always being Ariana’s best friend and how they came together, in self defense and being prepared, to make sure that psycho got what was coming to her. I’m also happy that Reed and Josh are still together. They are perfect!! It was a little sad about the Ariana and Palmer breakup, though, but he was right; he just didn’t know it for sure. Ariana did cause death and showed little emotion about what she did. Even when it was her “best friend” she was killing. I’m so happy the way it ended, although I admit, I cried. All in all, great book, and can’t wait for Vengeance to see how it all ends!! LOVE this series! =D

What especially bugged me was when Ariana was like “Thomas and Briana Leigh and everyone else i killed are dead because of Reed.” When reed pulled the gun on ariana i was like go Reed! although, yeah, i cried a little at the end.

Ok so I finished Cruel Love today and it was awesome but I agree that ending was sad and disappointing! I really wish Ariana went to the airport like she said she was and ran away with Jasper, Jasper sounds so hot lol. But all in all the ending was awesome, I wish that Reed and Ariana could hav both lived. So does ANYONE no where i can find all the rest of the episodes after one? They’re not at teen.com and they’re not here SO WHERE THE HELL ARE THEY??!! Also it would be nice if they could continue the episodes, and also make privilege episodes!
yeah privilege episodes would be pretty interesting to watch. i personally HATED the private ones since they completely changed what happened in the books, besides the main storyline.

Cheyenne’s mom killed Mr. Lange by accident. She was originally going at Reed with the knife and Mr. Lange jumped in front of Reed to protect her and he got stabbed and died. It was in the end of Ominous.

I just finished reading Cruel love, i can’t believe how it ended. To me the way it ended makes me think that there is another book coming out. I wish that this series wasn’t coming to an end.

I’ve finished ‘Vanished,’ and left my review on ‘Amazon.’ Planning to start ‘Ominous’ tomorrow. I think I’ll have caught up with everything by the time ‘Vengeance’ comes out. These have certainly been two interesting series to follow.

I sort of think ‘Private’ is wrapping up at the right time. I could’ve read about the Reed/Ivy friendship for a few more years, but — much as I don’t like to admit it — I had little interest in many of the other characters, especially the ‘minor’ ones, in both ‘Privilege’ and ‘Private’. I’m mainly referring to Rose, Kiki, Astrid, Maria, et al. I can’t distinguish them or find them fascinating.
And I really, really didn’t like the whole “sister” revelation.
But I’ll definitely have fond memories of the series.

And, you’re right, only few characters really interest me, i.e. Reed, Noelle, Ivy, Ariana, Josh. The other Billings Girls and “Ana’s posse”, as I have come to call them, are just there kinda for the hell of it.
However, I find the Noelle and Reed sisterhood an interesting twist; I just thought that the way others found out wasn’t very well thought out.
And, yes, this series truly is awesome and I’m soooo sad it’s ending.

It would be nice if we could get a few books like those ‘Clique’ specials that focus on the most fascinating characters.
I’ve got plenty of respect for Kate at this point, but the “sister” thing just seems indulgent and forced IMO (and in some other readers’ opinions as well). It might have been more believable earlier in the series. But when it comes this late, it seems like she mainly threw it in because she liked the relationship and wanted them to be sisters.
As much as I love Reed/Ivy, I wouldn’t even buy THEM as long-separated sisters. I basically just try to ignore this whole revelation.
And indeed, it’s been a nice series with some memorable characters. Part of me wishes another writer could take over (and narrow it down to the more interesting characters), but I don’t think anyone could write ‘Private’ as well as Kate.
I haven’t even read it yet, but I’m ordering it. But reading the comments that are already on here…I just can’t believe that Lexa and Ariana died. Especially Ariana. I’m speechless and I almost cried. Even though I love Ariana in a sick twisted sort of way, I must admit that she did deserve to die. I mean, think about all the people she killed and all the trouble she caused…… If it wasn’t for her, Brigit would still be alive. Cheyenne would still be alive, and so would Lexa. Plus all the other people she killed with her hands. I love Ariana, but… The girl didn’t deserve to be standing. And when I read that she killed Lexa, I was shocked and mad cause that’s when I realised that Ariana is a pshyco and has more blood on her hands than she could ever wash clean. I love her, but she deserved it. She walked around thinking that they’re were no consequences and that she’d get away everytime. It don’t work that way. Maybe it does for a while, but later, you will reap what you sew. I’m sorry Ariana, but you deserved it sweetheart. Good-bye.

I haven’t gotten the chance to read Cruel Love, but out of burning curiosity I scrolled through these posts and got an overview of the whole story. I am unhappy that Ariana died yet equally relieved. Drama and deaths followed her around like dark gray clouds, which is ironic because the same comment was made about Reed in Paradise Lost. The only difference is that Ariana orchestrated these deaths with her own hands while Reed was just cursed to be caught in the crossfire. From what I’ve read in your posts, it seems like Ariana’s craziness escalated in this book. Rather than kill to protect her new life, she killed for vengeance. Kate Brian most likely did this intentionally so that readers would be more conflicted with her death at the end. While I sympathized with her in the past five books, I also saw her death to be inevitable and and appropriate. Kate Brian is a remarkable author and I simply adored the suspenseful story lines and endearing characters she created.

OMG, I know, can’t wait till Vengeance either; so excited! =D Hmm, let’s see, one of my favorite Private moments is probably when Noelle convinces Reed to go back to Easton at the end of Confessions. A Privilege “OMG” moment for me is definitely when Ariana tries to kill Jasper toward the end of Pure Sin. Intense stuff. I can’t believe the saga is ending. =[ Oh yeah, and also guys, I'm thinking of doing a continuation of the series starting sometime in the fall; after Vengeance comes out and I read it and everything. I'm obviously not going to claim it as my own; I'm giving Kate Brian the credit and I won't try to make money off of it or anything like that, I'm just going to write probably around eight more books continuing Private so that it can live on for about another year for me at least, and then possibly post them on Fanfiction.net for the other fans to read if I don't feel too self-conscious about it. lol What I'm thinking of doing is writing it through Reed's senior year, maybe write two more prequels about the summer before her junior year and her childhood before Easton, and then maybe another continuation series about her college years. I'm also thinking of MAYBE putting Reed in Atherton-Pryce Hall for her senior year, so that she can get away from the Easton drama and meet Lexa and Bridget and all them, and then the other main Private guys like Noelle and of course Josh and everyone can join her somehow. I still have to come up with a few more ideas to tweak it a bit more before I get started, but yeah, that's what I'm probably going to do so that the series can go on and remain in our hearts and stay slightly alive. Plus, I love to write and want to practice before I make a profession of it, so it can't hurt since the way I'm doing it won't be illegal right? Haha. <33 Let me know what you guys think! Aww, thanks Ana, you’re so sweet! I’ve definitely been working on tweaking the ideas for the “15th Private novel,” which I titled Peace, and I made a cover page. Each cover page will have the title in some fancy form of writing in a border, saying “a Private fanfiction in honor of Kate Brian,” a picture that’s supposed to be of one of them and then a quote at the bottom I make up kind of summarizing the book in a sentence. Then I’ll do a full summary, put a disclaimer on after, and then write the story. I’m so excited to keep this amazing series going hopefully for the fans for a few more years; even though I can’t publish it or anything. It’s going to be awesome, and wow, for one of the books a collab would be an amazing idea!! I’ll keep you posted and email them to you when I finish so you can be one of the first to read them; if you want. It’ll be great! Can’t wait for the fall so I can start!! EEEEEEE!

I’m so excited for vengeance since ominous was so good. And I am totally team Ariana over Reed even though I think Reed is pretty cool Ariana is more interesting AKA psycho. At first I wanted them to make a tv series out of the books, but now I don’t because I think they will probably ruin the books for me like the web series almost did no offense if anyone likes the web series.
But If anyone wants to watch an awesome tv series watch The nine lives of chloe king I mean just give it a chance because I thought I wouldn’t like it but I watched the first episode and fell in love with the show and anyone thats into romances would love the show too. And the show couldn’t be on a better time and channel because you can watch pretty little liars than the nine lives of Chloe king.
Noelle killed ariana! Did you read the private serise? I think the girls continued to practise witch craft and noelle used that to kill ariana. To me it seemed that way because they said reed and noelle were standing beside eachother which makes their power stronger and when ariana was fighting reed they hinted that reed used teleckinetic power to hit arianna with something… Just my thoughts.

I never read the Private series because it was way to long for me, but I did the Privileged series. Even though I didn’t read Private I kind of know all the back story and stuff about the characters. Now I know Noelle and Reed had witch powers bur did Ariana have them too? What kind of powers did they have, and like how strong were they? How come Reed didn’t use them when Ariana tried to kill her towards the end of Cruel Love. Please someone who has read the Private series let know the info of that whole stuff. THANK YOU!! =]
Ariana didn’t have the witch powers like Reed and Noelle did. A friend of their descendents (Noelle’s was Theresa Billings; Reed’s was Eliza Williams), Catherine White, was a distant relative of Ariana’s…but Ariana never had the same powers as the others. They had certain powers, like to be able to lift things using a magic word, or to wish that certain things happened and then they did. Sometimes, they can be so powerful that gusts of wind blow through the air, or the lights go out. I’m not sure why Reed didn’t use her powers on Ariana in that scene; it didn’t explain it. Maybe she was just too terrified to think? I’m glad you enjoy it though. You should read Private! It’s long but so worth it!!

This series was so amazing. Obviously the first and last books were the best but I just can’t get over that “Cruel Love” was the last book. I NEED more books in the Privelage collection. It was a great ending but it can’t just be done. We need more dont you think? I’ve grown to love Ariana and I really wanted to read about her new life with Jasper. Kate just has to make another book or maybe just another character spin-off. Because once the last Private book comes out and we all read it…we’ll have nothing left! No Private or Privelage books! What are we going to do!!!!!

I haven’t read Cruel Love yet, but I just finished Pure Sin. I was like, woah, when Ariana saw Reed (for real this time). I can’t believe Ariana pushed Kiran over a bridge … does Kiran really die?? Is she mentioned at all in Cruel Love (the last book)??
At times I found Ariana chillingly calm — like how she’s not even fazed a little bit after killing Kaitlynn and her way of thinking usually winds up pointing in the direction of getting rid of anyone who threatens to expose her past self. She’s said before she wants a normal life, but she keeps killing.
If Kate Brian ever writes another sequel after this in a new series, I want her to make Noelle the main character going through the motions of the after events of “Cruel Love”. From what I’ve read on the comment section here, it seems it isn’t shown how or when Ariana’s old friends realize what she really is and everything she’s done as a murderer.
I loved Cruel Love! I must say though, I was a bit disappointed after the last chapter. Ariana’s note to Soomie, Tahira, and Maria was incredibly sad! Ariana ended up loving her life, but she became so obsessed with Reed that she threw everything she had made for herself away just to get that final blow, which obviously backfired. Even though we all know Ariana deserved to die after all of the people she had killed, I was still somehow hoping that Reed AND Ariana would get a happy ending. My perfect ending for that novel would definitely have been that Ariana hadn’t killed Dr. Meloni (simply because she left Rambo without an owner!); Dr. Meloni was telling the truth and was doing his job. He stated that if she were to leave Brenda T., that she would definitely kill again, which she did.
Ariana was a very crazy, messed up individual. She would have obviously done anything to succeed, which is why I was very upset by the way the book ended. I think anyone who has read the entire Privilege Series has grown to love Ariana, even considering who she is, so reading her death scene was very upsetting. I wasn’t very surprised when she killed Lexa; I thought Ariana was going to do that in the previous novel, ‘Pure Sin’. I absolutely LOVED Ariana and Jasper together, but he was never really in love with Ariana, he was in love with Briana Leigh. My perfect ending, would have been that Ariana, Jasper, and all of her Atherton-Pryce Hall friends would have graduated, she could have gone to college, etc. I was hoping she would move on from Reed and not try to kill her or Dr. Meloni, but we knew she wouldn’t. After killing Dr. Meloni, when I read the sentence: “Goodbye Briana Leigh Convington”, I knew she was going to die. I hope there is a next book that concentrates on the other people at Atherton-Pryce Hall, but I don’t think there will be.!
I love the Privilege Series so much…but I dont think it was really popular/made good sales because I really think she was going to make it as long as the Private series. If you read all the books you can see that Privilege and Beautiful Disaster were like 300 or more pages…but then Perfect Mistake, Sweet Deceit, Pure Sin and Cruel Love were only between 150-200 pages which is way to small…also one book publushers dropped her and another one picked her up. It makes me sad but I really think she ended it so soon because not a lot of sales and she was pissed about it so thats why she killed Ariana off. Any thoughts?
amazing!!! jasper was so great and ariana while i sympathized for her that thomas dumped her she is a murderous freak and oh yeah she killed briana leigh which was wrong… i loved how she killed dr. meloni and kaitlynn though i guess brenda t. wasn’t the best jail after alll….. and i feel bad for rambo now he has no owner!! even though meloni was a jerk he really loved that dog…. and ariana drugged him so many times and what not…. i was cheering when reed shot that gun..
I read the privilege series before i read private and it was perfection. I loved how we got Ariana’s point of view on everything we were seeing the world from the eyes of a murderer which is really cool. Now after reading the whole private series idk which 1 i like better but i am going to say privilege because i liked the ending better (although for some reason i always wanted Palmer to kill ariana. it would be shocking). Ariana is one of my favorite characters ever and it took me awhile to even read about reed because i hated her so much on what ariana said about her but then i got used to her and understood why she killed ariana. Anyways this series is just amazing and ended at the right time i think. i will miss ariana (and even kaitlynn a lil bit too) though

SO. DISAPPOINTED. I loved Ariana! I just hated how she killed so much. And I always hated Reed. I just kept reading the Private series because it was good….But Reed is literally the ONLY main character I have absolutely hated in a book. She’s so annoying and everything is about her! And the sisters thing? BULLSHIT! Stupidest thing ever shoved in the entire series. Even more-so than the witch thing which is almost as dumb. I really had hoped Ariana just killed Reed, left Dr. Meloni alone and left the country. The fact that Noelle sided with Reed made me so angry. Ariana was her best friend!!!! Reed did kind of ruin everything by showing up to Easton in my opinion. I understand Ariana’s want to kill her. This ending just made me so mad! The fact that she turned into a complete psycho so we would hate her made me madder. Gah, my favorite character from Private, dead while the most-hated lives. I would have loved if Reed died while the books became about Noelle. She was the true queen bee.

The girl was friggin insane. She’s an effin pyscho killer! As I was reading the series, all I could think about was, God;someone bring her victims to justice already.
The only reason I read this series in the first place was because I wanted to see how Ariana was suffering in her new hell hole. And you wouldn’t even imagine the massive tantrum I’ve done after Ariana escaped and killed and killed and killed.
I think its pathetic how she’s become actually and its clear that she’s become delusional what with all the excuses she’s spouting about how she deserves the priveleged life more than anyone else and so she goes her way to kill all these innocent people who are in her way.
As for the last book, I couldn’t help but laugh maniacally when ariana finally died. Serves her right for killing Lexa (Whom I’m a VERY BIG fan of). I especially liked how Noelle stood by Reed. Take that,you crazy bitch! And although I despise Reed as much as Ariana (Because lets face it, Reed is another annoying little whiny pest) and paused to question how in fucks name she acquired a gun, I was happy how she finally stepped up her game.
Although I do have some questions left such as,
whatever happened to Jasper after Ariana died?
Did Soomie really take the position to become president of APH?
What about Palmer and Conrad?
And,will the people of APH find out the whole truth about everything that’s happened including Lexa’s death and Kaitlyn’s?
